[TRANSLATED] 5 AKFK TournamentOur event commenced with the National Anthem, Performed by Andrea (Singing) and Accompanied by Yahira (playing the flute) at 9:00 a.m.
Then, we held our judges meeting, lined up all of the competitors for the first event, and began
our "1st Anual 5 Animal Kung-Fu / Karate In House Tournament" promptly at 9:30 a.m.
It was a great event for all that attended, competitors, and and all of
the family members that attended to show thier support.
It was a true battle of skill as well as of nerves, as the event unfolded.
Freestyle Kata, Weapon Forms, Synchronized Kata, as well as free style point sparring,
were the events of the day, and nobody left dissappointed.
Ribbons, Gold, Silver and Bronze metals
were awarded throughout the day as well as 7 Grand Champion Trophies.
Just before the break, we also awarded 2 special Participant trophies to
Andrea and Yahira for their outstanding performance of the National Anthem.
"In over 39 years of Martial arts experience and tournament involvement, I have never felt such
an incredible show of heart filled competition, as well as the spirit of great sportsmanship
and family support, as i did Saturday April 25th 2009"
All that dared to enter the Dojo that day, were true winners in the eyes of the Martial Arts World,
as well as that of the family and friends that chose to join us for this great event.
A special thanks to,.. Jack and Maria Scholnick
(for their time and efforts in the food concessions),
As well as,. Paula Beemer (The photographer),
